Your Perfect Halloween Costume Based on Your Zodiac Sign

When it comes to Halloween costumes there are always old standbys: cat, “sexy” fill-in-the-blank, witch, etc. But the standards get boring, tbh. So this year, we thought it would be fun to lean intro astrology and come up with costumes that fit the vibe of each sign in the Zodiac, or are inspired by a celeb with that zodiac sign. Aries: Lara Croft Tomb Raider

The warrior of the Zodiac, Aries is all about kicking ass, taking names, and looking hot while doing so. Enter Lara Croft! Take a cue from Angelina Jolie’s version of the character with a black tank top and hot pants, a harness, a chunky belt buckle and long French braid. Don’t forget the combat boots!

Taurus: Cher

Cher is the ultimate Taurus. Get her iconic look with a long brown wig, dramatic eye makeup, and defined, arched eyebrows. Channel one of her Bob Mackie dresses with something sheer, sparkly, and ab-baring. Bonus points if you add feathers to the sleeves.

Gemini: Marilyn Monroe

The Barbie movie was one of the biggest cultural events of the year, so we’ll definitely see a lot of Western Barbies, Mojo Dojo Kens, and Weird Barbies out there. But for this water sign, we think Dua Lipa’s cameo as Mermaid Barbie is perfect. Pair your mermaid skirt with a bright blue wig and shimmery eyeshadow.

Halle’s Catwoman outfit is iconic. Her leather-pants-and-bikini top combo made the Catwoman character look modern and sexy. Don’t forget the famous cat mask and fingerless gloves–with pointy stiletto nails, of course.

This one is simple but glam, and if you’re one of the lucky people who caught the tour, you probably already have something silver to wear! Pair a silver dress with long black gloves and statement earrings. Get some clip in extensions for a super-long high pony and soft glam makeup.

Libra is all about balance, which is why Wednesday Addams (as played by Jenna Ortega) is perfect. She combines goth and girly styles into a completely distinctive look. Scorpio is the sexiest sign of the zodiac–we don’t make the rules, that’s just how it is! They’re also the spookiest. Lean into both qualities with this cult favorite Megan Fox character. Perfect for the explorer of the zodiac, you've got lots of options here. Pick one of Taylor’s famous “eras”: a sparkly dress and cowboy boots from Fearless, or a purple halter dress with red lipstick and curly ponytail from Speak Now. Or pay homage to the Red (Taylor’s Version) album cover with a trench coat and pageboy hat.

The grownups of the zodiac, Capricorns also have a knack for old-school elegance. Enter the Hitchcock Blonde. Grace Kelly, Kim Novak, and Tippi Hedren all played heroines in Hitchcock movies, dressed in well-fitted, classic skirt suits or dresses.
