Introducing Moxi and BBL Hero Lasers

Our latest treatments can improve almost every skin concern you can think of.

March 6, 2024

It used to be that laser treatments were long, painful, and required downtime. But since laser treatments are also super powerful for improving skin tone and texture, if you wanted better skin, you just had to embrace the pain and sunburn-like after effects. Hiding in your apartment, waiting to be able to wear makeup again–who wants to deal with that?

Luckily for you, things are different now.

Thanks to innovations in advanced aesthetics, you can get laser treatments that are comfortable, effective, and have virtually no downtime. BBL HERO and Moxi lasers are the two newest additions to Upkeep’s treatment menu. We love them because they each treat a wide variety of issues–everything from active acne to signs of aging to hyperpigmentation. And they’re both easy to fit into your busy schedule. Discover how these lasers can reveal your real beauty, what to expect, and where to get them.

Main benefits of Moxi laser and BBL Hero

  • Faster than other lasers
  • Virtually no down time
  • Prevents signs of aging before they start
  • Safe for all skin types
  • Safe to use all over the body

Treatment Overview: Moxi

How does Moxi laser treatment work?

Moxi is a non-ablative 1927nm wavelength laser. It targets water within your skin cells in order to trigger your body’s natural healing process. This results in more collagen and elastin, which makes your skin look smooth, clear, and youthful. Non-ablative means that the laser doesn’t vaporize skin tissue, so it’s gentler and less intense than other lasers you may have tried before. But, Moxi still penetrates deep in the skin for powerful results.

What does the Moxi laser do?

Moxi corrects initial signs of sun damage and photoaging (aging from sun exposure). There are three treatment versions available: level 1 to prevent and refresh, level 2 to revitalize and maintain, and level 3 to transform and renew. It’s considered a “prejuvenation” treatment because it’s an early intervention suitable for younger patients who want to prevent the signs of aging.

Where can I get Moxi laser on my body?

You can get this treatment done virtually anywhere, including:

  • Face
  • Arms
  • Neck
  • Decollete
  • Hands
  • Legs

Does Moxi laser hurt?

Pain and discomfort can be different for everybody. But one of the best things about Moxi is how quick and comfortable it is. It’s much gentler of an experience compared to what you may be used to. Treatment sessions last 8-10 minutes on average. And topical numbing cream is available in case you really need it–but you probably won’t.

Treatment Overview: BBL Hero

What is BBL Hero? How does it work?

BBL stands for broad band light. Hero stands for High Energy Rapid Output. Like Moxi, it’s a comfortable laser treatment with minimal downtime. The broad band light has nine different filters your provider can use, each of which can treat a different skin concern. Otherwise it works in a similar way to Moxi by generating heat, which triggers your body’s healing response and creating new collagen and elastin.

Even better, BBL Hero has four times the speed and twice the cooling power of the original BBL laser. This means that your treatment time is super fast–usually about 10-15 minutes.

Does BBL Hero laser hurt?

This treatment causes a bit more sensation than Moxi. But it also has an integrated plate that keeps your skin cool. Most people find that numbing cream isn’t necessary, but tell your provider if you decide you need it.

What does BBL Hero treat?

BBL Hero treats signs of aging like Moxi does, but it can do other things depending on the filter applied to the light. Here’s the full list:

  • Loose skin
  • Small blood vessels or rosacea
  • Active acne
  • Unwanted body hair
  • Signs of aging (including sun damage, age spots, and freckles)

Where can BBL Hero be used on the body?

You can get BBL Hero treatments done practically anywhere, including:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Decollete
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Back
  • Abdomen
  • Buttocks

How long do results from Moxi or BBL Hero last?

Both of these treatments deliver long term results. After you complete your initial treatment course (most people need 3-4 sessions but it depends on the person), you’ll only need annual touch ups to maintain your results.

Where do I get BBL Hero or Moxi laser treatment near me?

These treatments are both safe and effective when performed by a licensed, experienced medical professional. But those people tend to be booked up pretty far in advance–especially when they’re really good. That’s where Upkeep comes in. We’re the app that helps you find, book, and pay for your MedSpa treatments. You no longer need to call around looking for the first available appointment you can get.
