Seven Fun Costume Ideas for Halloween 2022

Halloween is coming up, and it might just be our fave holiday. We’re always looking for excuses to dress up, let’s be real. At Upkeep, we love all things girly and glam. If that’s your style too, then keep reading for some Halloween costume inspo. 

Pamela Anderson

One of the most fun looks to achieve is Pamela Anderson as her Barb Wire character. All you need, if you don’t already have platinum blonde hair, is a blonde wig with bangs, leather corset top, and the barbed wire temporary tattoo. Or you can go full Baywatch with a red one-piece bathing suit!

Elle Woods

Elle Woods is such an iconic character, with so many fun outfits you can recreate. Her famous bunny halloween costume is an easy option–all you need is a light pink bustier and matching undies, pink tights, and bunny ears! Or you can go for a hot pink midi dress, pink shades, and fluffy pink pen and notebook, for taking notes at Harvard Law School. Bonus points for authenticity if you happen to have a chihuahua who is a Gemini vegetarian. If not, a little stuffed animal chihuahua peeking out of your purse is the perfect finishing touch. 

Maddy and Cassie from Euphoria

A slinky matching set in contrasting colors–plus glittery eyeshadow–is the perfect costume for you and your bestie. We found this version here that’s close to what the girls wore on the show. 

Megan Thee Stallion

Megan has so many iconic looks but one of the easiest to achieve is this one here. Simply pair a pink bustier with a pink t shirt, and add the word “Stallion” to the shirt in blue fabric paint. Finish the look with some hot pink shorts and a blingy silver necklace. Or if you’re feeling more goofy and less glam, you can recreate this instantly iconic look where she wore a carved pumpkin on her head–just find a fake pumpkin big enough to wear on your head, cut out the bottom of it and some eye-holes so you can see. Complete it with a black lounge set with lots of blingy jewels. 

Julia Fox

This is the look for you if you want maximum attention! She’s described her style as “dominatrix culture,” so one option is to go for a leather dress with matching gloves and boots. She’s also all about showing off her toned abs, so you could also pair an itty-bitty bandeau with a hip-slung skirt like this look. Her infamous denim look would be an easy one to recreate with a few vintage pairs from Goodwill. Julia even made a tutorial on her Instagram to show how she made this look, which is super helpful! What really makes it a Julia Fox look is her distinctive, harsh, black eye makeup. You’ll need black eyeliner, and lots of it, to make the look complete. 

The girls of Bridgerton

This look is both fun and comfortable, thanks to the empire silhouette Regency style dresses used in the show. And thanks to the show’s huge popularity, it’s really easy to find Regency style dresses on Amazon or similar sites. For Daphne Bridgerton’s look, all you need is a pastel blue regency dress, lace gloves, and sparkly hair pins for your elegant chignon. For Penelope Featherington, you can either go for a yellow or pink dress–something floaty and feminine is ideal. Curl your hair and use jeweled bobby pins to sculpt her trademark cascading updo. And for Kate Sharma’s look, go for a teal dress with gold ribbon around the waist and floral hair accents. 

Top Gun

Fortunately there are lots of great options if you’re looking to emulate Tom Cruise’s most famous role. A short khaki dress or romper, aviators, and hat are all you need. There’s even officially licensed versions on Amazon! You can also add a bomber jacket on top for an authentic touch!
